MotherBone PiOne: Outro projeto do kickstarter que não deu certo

Já mostrei no passado um dos projetos relacionados com Raspberry Pi que não deu certo, a placa de expansão HDMI.

A MotherBone PiOne é outro projeto que iria postar sobre mas que também não deu certo, mas o motivo não foi técnico, mas por falta de financiamento.

Essa placa adicionava diversas formas de IO, relês, etc, ao Raspberry Pi ou Beagle Bone Black e inclusive era possível utilizar ambos em conjunto. As especificações eram bem extensas:

• Form Factor: 3.5 inch industrial standard motherboard (5.8” x 4”) (5.25”, 3.5” external drive chassis)
• CPU Requirements: BeagleBone Black and/or Raspberry Pi single board computers simultaneously (Not Included)
• Power System: Three 5VDC switching power supplies (52W maximum, 22W nominal)
• Input Power: 7.5-36VDC, single input connection
• 4-port High Powered USB Hub: Four downstream USB ports with extended current capability can be used by BeagleBone Black or Raspberry Pi
• Raspberry Pi Pass Thru: Raspberry Pi I/O header interconnect with Pass Thru Connection for Raspberry Pi peripherals
• BonePi™ Bridge™: Jumper selectable I2C and null modem connections and relay access for Raspberry Pi

A meta era de US$60000 e foi arrecadado somente US$4,270. Acredito que a combinação por ser um produto de nicho, preço( US$200 para cima ) e talvez falta de melhor divulgação fizeram com que o financiamento não fosse concluído.
